Title: Drillsite Facilities Engineer - Anchorage/Kuparuk Location: ALASKA-NORTH SLOPE Company Overview ConocoPhillips is an international, integrated energy company. ConocoPhillips, with about 1,000 Alaska employees, has major ownership in and operates the Kuparuk River Unit, the Colville River Unit (Alpine), the Greater Moose's Tooth Unit (in the National Petroleum Preserve Alaska), the North Cook Inlet Unit and the Beluga River Unit fields, as well as the Kenai LNG Plant. Additionally, ConocoPhillips has major ownership in the BP-operated Prudhoe Bay Unit and owns 28 percent of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS). Job Description The North Slope Kuparuk drill site assets collectively produce ~ 140 MBOPD and 600 MMSCFD produced and lift gas, and inject 600 MBPD of water and 150 MMSCFD of Miscible Injectant. The Drillsite Facility Engineer serves as the primary ConocoPhillips engineering representative providing support to Operations, Maintenance, Construction, and other field support groups. This is a key technical leadership position in assuring the business unit meets overall business goals and objectives in the area of drill site surface facilities performance. The engineer also fulfills a project management function on a portfolio of small construction projects, and liaisons with Anchorage based Major Projects Engineering on larger scale projects. This engineering organization employs a combination of Anchorage based DS Facility Engineers (40 hr work week) and North Slope based DS Facility Engineers (14 on/14 off or 7 on/7 off) working as a team to provide Kuparuk drill site support. Depending on the experience level of the successful applicant and business need, an offer could be made for either location/schedule. Basic/Required Qualifications * Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering. * Three years oil and gas industry experience including gas / oil production, gathering, separation & processing, chemical processing, refining, etc. * Two years experience in Facility Engineering fundamentals including a working understanding of Process Safety Management (PSM) and Management of Change (MOC). * Experience with the use of Industry Codes, Standards and Recommended Practices. * Legally authorized to work in the United States on a regular full-time basis without restrictions. * Must possess a valid US driver's license. * Anchorage based Facility Engineers must be willing and able to occasionally travel to the North Slope for 1-2 days to support specific project needs or to work an occasional work week on the North Slope for vacation relief and professional development. (Review Job Description above for more details regarding location and schedule) * Kuparuk based Facility Engineers must be willing and able to work a 7 days on/7 days off or 14 days on/14 days off rotating work schedule in a remote location. (Review Job Description above for more details regarding location and schedule) Preferred Qualifications. * Must be able to foster working relationships with numerous levels of the organization and other departments. Strong interpersonal, teamwork and organizational skills. * Excellent written and oral communication skills. * Two years or more Oil and Gas Industry upstream experience including gas / oil production, well testing, gas compression and re-injection, corrosion and scale inhibition, water injection, miscible injectant recovery processes, etc. * One year or more field engineering experience in a direct maintenance or operations support role. * One year or more engineering experience supporting the North Slope or other Arctic environment. * Preference for degreed Chemical, Mechanical or Petroleum Engineers. Other disciplines (Civil, Electrical Engineering) may be appropriate if combined with applicable work experience in other areas. * Demonstrated ability to operate in a decisive and committed way to deliver results that are sustainable and measurable. Track record of delivering results on time and within budget. * Ability to prioritize and execute multiple assignments in a changing environment. Capable of handling a large volume of diverse tasks. Capable of adapting to changes in project scope.
